Bio

Roy Vogt has been playing bass for over 40 years in the very active Music Scenes in Texas, Miami and for the last 34 years in Nashville, TN. A short list of the Artists he’s backed would include Dickey Betts, Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, Engelbert Humperdinck, and literally dozens of Country, Gospel and Rock Acts. He’s performed everywhere from the Montreux Jazz Festival to the Grand Ole Opry to the Midtfyns Rock Festival. In addition, he has 2 solo albums to his credit and has created the award-winning Teach Me Bass Guitar video series.

Roy is also the bass department head at the prestigious Belmont University Wilson School of Music.

As a session bassist, he has played 4,5, 6 and 7 string basses and electric and upright bass on hundreds of sessions for word, triune, universal, curb, polygram, winter harvest, avita and scores of indie releases. Roy is equally adept at all styles and can bring that special touch to the bass work on your project.
